We are a self-funded non-profit organisation which provides a wide range of intellectually stimulating activities for retired and semi-retired people.
Members can attend courses, talks and events throughout the year.

The largest private collection of Salvador Dali on paper in Australia is right here in Launceston and U3A Port Sorell have organised a private tour of the current displayed collection and hear from the private owner himself - Dr Brendan Vote!
Whether you love Dali or not, we think this 1 day bus tour to see the collection, hear from Brendan and his passion for collecting Dali on paper shouldn’t be missed and what’s more anyone can attend - U3A member or not. That’s how special we think this event is.

U3A Short CourseWinter Games Afternoons
Get together in a warm environment, enjoy a cuppa with good fun and laughter, whiling away the winter blues playing games. Take this opportunity to play your favourite board and card games and learn new ones. Enjoy a social afternoon of winter games - some provided and you can bring your own favourites to share too.

Who we are
Our goal is to bring together people who may be retired from full-time work but not from living their life to the fullest.
Indeed, U3A members seek out opportunities to make new friends, engage in new lifestyle activities and to learn new things.
What we do
We offer over 30 courses per year covering a wide spectrum including arts and craft, humanities, music, health, literature, history, social sciences, leisure, computing, fitness and we offer these classes in an environment of fun and friendship.
Classes range from one off sessions to weekly activities so there is bound to be something that suits your interest and schedule.
There are no prerequisites, no exams and no qualifications awarded.
