Become a Member
Once you become a member of U3A PS you are eligible to enrol in any of the face to face classes we have throughout the year as well as attend any of the special events or one off sessions we offer.
You also become part of a very special family where friendships are formed and we are there for each other - it is a very special community.
Eligibility
Membership of U3A Port Sorell is open to retired or semi-retired people. If this does not apply to you but you are still interested in joining please get in touch.
Note however that most of our classes are Monday to Friday during the day.
Membership Fees
- Annual $45
- After 1st September (New Members Only) $25
Class/Activity Fees
There are no class/tuition fees. These are covered by your annual membership fee. However particular courses may involve a fee to cover ingredients or materials eg cooking classes.
Members are asked to make a $2 donation per session to help cover power and heating costs at most venues.
How to become a member
To become a new member, please fill out the form.
Please make a payment of $45 for the annual membership fee. If you are joining after September 1st as a new member, the fee is reduced to $25.
Once you have completed the form, you can submit it in person at the office along with the payment, or you can make an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) using the details provided below.

If you are already a current member, you do not need to use this form. You can simply pay the annual membership fee at the office or through EFT to renew your membership.
Please note: cash, cheque or credit card or EFTPOS facilities are available at the office.
Guest Membership
Port Sorell U3A offers guest membership to financial members of other U3As in the north-west coast region of Tasmania. Central Coast, Kentish, Meander Valley and Wynyard.
- Guest members are entitled to enrol in any classes offered by Port Sorell U3A, however if a class is oversubscribed, priority will be given to Port Sorell members.
- Guest members will receive by email all relevant communication which goes to Port Sorell members.
- Guest membership is free, however guest members should pay venue charges, normally $2 per session. Some classes have additional fees, however this is detailed in the course information.
- Guest membership must be renewed annually, if required.
- Guest members should wear the badges supplied by their own U3A to Port Sorell classes and events.
